Q: What was your motivation for booking a boudoir session?

I've always loved others photos that I've seen and honestly I've always loved the idea of boudoir so I wanted to try it for myself! I also wanted to boost my confidence and man it worked!

Q: What made you choose Bare Soul Boudoir?

The reviews, the editing style and Jess's vibes!! I just loved everything about bare soul!!

Q: Were you nervous before your session? What did you do/ remind yourself to over come that?

I definitely was but I hyped myself up both times before my shoots AND got a nice Starbucks drink before hand it helped a lot but not only that the SECOND I walked in the door it all melted away Jess and Tuni helped so much with my nerves! It was the best experience ever plus I read reviews that helped a lot as well!!

Q: How did you feel before your session vs after?

I felt a little nervous but very excited before and I felt like I was on cloud nine and super confident afterwards:)

Q: How did you feel seeing your photos for the first time?

I nearly cried I felt so empowered I loved everything about them, the editing, the style the poses was all amazing!!

Q: How did you feel leaving the studio before seeing your images?

I felt so excited because I got sneak peaks through out the shoot! I kept refreshing my email until I got the gallery!

Q: What would you say to anyone on the fence about a boudoir session?

Just do it it's worth everything and will make you feel like a million bucks!!!

Q: Was Jess' direction & guidance helpful?

ABSOLUTELY my goodness the BEST hype women EVERRRR and guided the positions and everything sooooo helpful!!

Q: What was your motivation for booking a boudoir session?

Honestly, I followed the Bare Soul insta page for a LONG time. I admired how amazing everyone always looked in their sessions, and imagined if I could *actually* look that good too?! Last year, I decided to say fuck it and just go for it. I was on my ~ self-love, body acceptance journey~ and doing boudoir seemed like the best way to celebrate my progress. Now, I have done two sessions with Jess and I am simply addicted <3

Q: What made you choose Bare Soul Boudoir?

After following Bare Soul for a while, I realized that Jess truly meant when she said "for all bodies" and was truly accepting. There is nothing more terrifying than being in such a vulnerable state in front of a stranger, but after a while I could tell Jess was genuine, and I would have nothing to worry about. Seeing all the past client reviews, and positive experiences was truly the biggest motivator to help me get over the initial booking anxiety.

Q: Were you nervous before your session? What did you do/ remind yourself to over come that?

Oh, I was ANXIOUS. After I booked my session, I was like "Did I really just do that? Who the hell do I think I am?". But, I just pushed through. I reminded myself that I was deserving of this experience and everything that came with it, and I didn't allow my anxiety to take this away from me.

Q: How did you feel before your session vs after?

Before my first session, I was so nervous. I was hyping myself up the whole drive to be excited about something SO out of the norm for me. After that first session, I felt so GOOD. Nothing could have brought me down from the high I had. I felt powerful. Incredible. I felt like a freaking queeeeeen!!!

Before my second session, I was just excited. I knew what to expect this time, and just couldn't wait to get back to the studio, be pampered, and have some fun. I booked the birthday add-on to celebrate turning 25, and couldn't wait to see what Jess had planned. Leaving that day, was similar to the first. I felt like a boss-ass bitch and no one was taking that way from me. It's truly such a confidence boost that lasts DAYS.

Q: How did you feel seeing your photos for the first time?

Seeing the sneak peeks in the studio was surreal. I hardly recognized myself., I couldn't believe that that was ME in the camera. Once received my gallery, I totally cried. After both sessions, I cried seeing my images. I just couldn't believe that was me, in my body, looking that good.

Q: How did you feel leaving the studio before seeing your images?

Jess shows you some sneak peeks as she is shooting, which just adds to the anticipation of receiving the images. I couldn't WAIT. I was so excited to have them back and see what we created. I had absolutely no doubts that they were going to beautiful.

Q: What would you say to anyone on the fence about a boudoir session?

DO ITTTTT. There is no regretting it. Why not? What could you possibly have to lose in doing it? I guarantee there will be AT LEAST one image from your gallery that you fall in love with, which will make the entire experience worth it. I promise you. YOU DESERVE IT.

Q: Was Jess' direction & guidance helpful?

Incredibly helpful! I was so appreciative of the prep guides she provides. As well as all the available information on her website and social medias. That was honestly what helped ease my anxiety prior to the sessions, was all the available information for what to expect. Then, on the day of the guidance didn't stop. Jess was so chill and walked me through everything and ensured I was feeling my best; helped me pick my outfits and jewelry, and of course, helped and showed me how to pose.

Q: Would you say that this experience was worth the investment?

10000% yes. I cannot stop raving about my sessions to all my friends and encouraging everyone to book one for themselves. WORTH IT.

I have wanted to do a session for years. The last few years of Covid have been draining in many ways for me as a nurse. I needed to re ignite my flame of confidence and for my mental well being. This year I also turned 30... so it's a major mile stone. What better way to celebrate me!

I was nervous... Jess's Spotify playlist made me get pumped up for the session... I got my grove on during my 2 hour drive there.

Some nerves... but the whole process was comfortable. From hair and make up into picking outfits. Than came the photos... Jess was supportive and worked with me to get into positions. She was very creative but supportive when I wasn't fully sure. I left my session snap chatted my hair and make up to all my girlfriends and told them all to book in for this self esteem building session of life !

Q: How did you feel seeing your photos for the first time?

During the session I got to see sneak peaks and they looked good... but nothing compared to what they looked liked when I got them all back! I was amazed! They all were so amazing I purchased the entire album.

I wasn't sure how I could wait 1-2 weeks

Q: What Was Your Motivation For Booking A Boudoir Session?

A: Honestly, I have had a lot of self confidence and body image issues and healing through sexual assault in my previous relationship. I was hoping by booking the session after encouragement from a friend, that I would feel more confident, sexy and happy about being in my own skin and be able to see myself the way others might see me.

Q: What made you choose Bare Soul Boudoir?

A: Her aesthetic, personality, and recommendation from a friend.

Q: Were you nervous before your session? What did you do/ remind yourself to over come that?

A: I was 1000% nervous - I'm an introvert, I'm terrible at meeting new people, I hate pictures being taken of me, and I'm not one to be glammed up! Jess' prep information really helped prepare for the session - doing the yoga each day definitely helped relax me more too. I also found that reading through “When you’re ready this is how you heal” and working through that helped. Right before the session I played my own “pump up” list to get me feeling good and reminded myself that this was a day for me and whatever the outcome I was stepping outside of my comfort zone and to be proud of myself for that.

Q: How did you feel before your session vs after?

A: Before I was nervous and excited at the same time. Afterwards, I felt confident and felt amazing leaving. It was so cathartic.

Q: How did you feel seeing your photos for the first time?

A: I was blown away. "That's me? How is that me?" and then I started crying. It again, was cathartic and it was eye opening to see how others can see me.

Q: How did you feel leaving the studio before seeing your images?

A: I knew they would come out amazing - even the raw images look amazing. I was beyond excited knowing that they would come back amazing and be soooo difficult to choose from.

Q: What would you say to anyone on the fence about a boudoir session?

A: Just do it. You aren't getting any younger - there's not going to be a better time, and everyone could use the confidence boost. If you’re even thinking about a session and worried about doing the “full” experience, try the minis! You absolutely will not regret them.

Q: What was your motivation for booking a boudoir session?

My motivation was myself I needed a little self love. I have never really liked the way my body looked for years I got "your too tall" and "your too skinny". Then I had children and I got all these stretch marks. And I didn't like the way they looked. So I decided that I needed to be a role model that I needed growing up for my own daughter.

I looked around for different companies that did boudoir photos. And I came across Bare Soul Boudoir and the photos were beautiful. Then I found Bare Soul Boudoir on YouTube and just watched all the videos and Jess was incredibly nice and her style of photos were amazing, and I thought That's who I want to take the photos.

Q: Were you nervous before your session? What did you do/ remind yourself to over come that?

I thought I was going to be nervous and jittery. But surprisingly enough I wasn't as much as I thought. I just reminded myself why I'm doing this. Who I'm doing this for. Me.

Q: How did you feel before your session vs after?

I was a little nervous just because I didn't know jess. But when ur getting your hair and makeup done. The girls talk and it's almost like a girls day. It makes you so comfortable and relaxed. After I felt great, confident even. The only day in my life I have felt confident was on my wedding day.

Q: How did you feel seeing your photos for the first time?

I felt scared at first before I opened the gallery. Like I'm just going to look the same way I normally do. But I opened it and my jaw dropped. I looked amazing.

Q: How do you feel weeks after your session?

I still feel amazing I feel like I walk taller. And I even noticed that I don't care what people think anymore. And I can't wait to show my daughter that you can love your body it's your body.

Q: What would you say to anyone on the fence about a boudoir session?

Just do it . Jess is amazing she is the best hype women I have ever meet. She makes you feel so beautiful and so confident. You will feel amazing after getting the photos like you walk taller and with more confidence.

If you've been around here for a while you know that halloween is my shitttt!! So this year I opened up a few pre-set shoots for booking. Tiffany fulled trusted in my crazy vision and it was so much fun bringing this shoot to life.

Q&A With Tiffany:

Q: What was your motivation for booking a boudoir session?

My motivation for the shoot had a lot to do with building my self-confidence again. I've always been an advocate for self-love but always contradicted myself when it came to my own body. I struggled with body image post-surgery which left scarring on my abdomen, and post baby with all the extra weight and stretch marks. It was time to fall in love with me again!

Q: What made you choose Bare Soul Boudoir?

I chose Bare Soul Boudoir because of their absolutely stunning work! I loved their vision and the way they captured clients in past work. I also hugely appreciate their requirement for the glam process prior to every session!! It really is the key element to releasing your nerves before you start the shoot.

Q: Were you nervous before your session? What did you do/ remind yourself to over come that?

I was 100% nervous going into things, I was a ball full of anxiety. I just kept reminding myself prior to arrival, that I got this and it will be more than worth it in the end. But also that I truly deserved this!

Q: How did you feel before your session vs after?

Before the session, I was nervous, anxious, and ready to run for the hills. Afterwards, I felt absolutely amazing, one of those I couldn't believe I just did that moments. Even more so because it was one of the most supportive experiences I've had in my life. Jess and Tutti, were there the entire time guiding me through everything and are truly the BEST hype girls ever!

Q: How did you feel seeing your photos for the first time?

I internally screamed in excitement the second I saw one of the first photos! I was also in complete disbelief that it was me for a hot minute. You can really see yourself in a completely different perspective after this experience.

Q: How do you feel weeks after your session?

Jess was like super woman, and I had a super short turn around time, but I can definitely say whole heartedly I will be on cloud nine for several weeks to come! I'm in love with my photos, they're stunning!

Q: What would you say to anyone on the fence about a boudoir session?

I say... JUST DO IT GIRL! Pick yourself up, forget about what YOU think about yourself, forget about your size, your weight, all of the things that flood through your mind when you're struggling to justify this self-love journey. Just go for it! It will 100% change your life for the better in one way or another and provide you with a truly healing experience.

Q: What was your motivation for booking a boudoir session?

After struggling my whole life (and let's be honest, I still do sometimes) with body image and the opinions of others, I thought it wasn't even "appropriate" for me to do a shoot like this for so long. Then slowly, as I found myself loving myself more, I also started to see more representation in the world of bodies of all sizes. One day I had the "if not now, then when?" thoughts, and decided I was worthy of any dang thing I wanted!

Q: What made you choose Bare Soul Boudoir?

Not only do I love Jess' editing style and the past shoots she had done, but her openness about welcoming all bodies into her studio really solidified it for me that this would be a space I was welcome and celebrated in with no judgement.

Q: Were you nervous before your session? What did you do/ remind yourself to over come that?

So nervous. But I just kept telling myself that I was doing this for me, to see me in a different, new light, to have something that makes me feel like the badass I know deep down I am.

Q: How did you feel before your session vs after?

Driving to my session the nerves were definitely setting in and for a moment I questioned if this was the right thing. From the moment Jess opened the studio door though, the nerves started to subside. Slowly but surely as we went through the steps, the nerves faded. The drive home was full of so much excitement and I couldn't wait to see the photos she captured, and I couldn't stop smiling at what a big step that was for me, and how I already wanted to do it again!

Q: How did you feel seeing your photos for the first time?

I was blown away. Definitely a "that's me?!" moment. Then a "damn, that is me!" moment. That feeling of being proud of myself for doing it and also being in awe of myself for just how beautiful they turned out.

Q: How do you feel weeks after your session?

I'd say I'm still riding the high from the experience. My phone background picture is of me now, I still go back and look through the photos and I can't wait to order some products for my wall.

Q: What would you say to anyone on the fence about a boudoir session?

Rip off the bandaid and do it! It's a rewarding experience that I think even the most confident person would benefit from. Besides, it's a ton of fun and a very worthy investment!

Q: What was your motivation for booking a boudoir session?

This shoot was a Christmas gift from my fiancé. He told me he wanted me to see myself how he sees me. I deal with body image issues and have been really hard on myself recently so he came up with this to help and let me tell you it did!

We both absolutely fell in love with Jess' editing style (seen on instagram) and the number of absolutely glowing reviews!

Q: Were you nervous before your session? What did you do/ remind yourself to over come that?

I was nervous, probably on a scale like 4/10. Primarily I deal with body image issues and in the back of my mind I was saying "Oh I'll skip breakfast" so I don't bloat but I re-read Jess' prep guide which highlights not to skip eating and convinced myself not to. I had a good breakfast and once I arrived and we got talking the nerves disappeared!

Q: How did you feel before your session vs after?

As I mentioned I was a bit nervous before, but I was on top of the world after! I felt like a rock-star!

Q: How did you feel seeing your photos for the first time?

Beyond excited, I feel beautiful! I want to print out every single one and post them everywhere LOL!

Q: How do you feel weeks after your session?

I know that the woman in those photos is within me all the time. While I don't wear makeup every day or wear crazy formal/dressy clothes, she is always in there and that is a great feeling. I walk with my head a little higher and see myself in a brighter light when I look in the mirror every morning :)

Q: What would you say to anyone on the fence about a boudoir session?

DO IT! It will change your life. It may look like it's out of your realm but let me tell you. Jess and her team is incredible!! Boudoir is for every one!

Q: What was your motivation for booking a boudoir session?

I'm always the person behind the camera; every holiday; birthday; family event. I'm the one to make sure to capture all the amazing moments. One day I was going through my photos and realized I spend some much energy and effort in taking everyone else's picture I had none of myself in these moments. I've been following Bare Souls boudoir for a long time; seeing all the amazing photos of such beautiful confident women, reading about their experiences and how some wish they did it sooner; I decided I deserved to see myself in such a beautiful way; to see myself in photos for once, that I deserved to have something to look at and go damn girl you are Fire!! ; and knowing my husband would also go absolutely crazy over them was motivation all in itself.

Q: What made you choose Bare Soul Boudoir?

Jess of course! I think it takes a lot of courage for a woman to put herself in such a vulnerable position, it doesn't matter how confident you are in yourself; in your body; to put yourself on display in front of a stranger is a little nerve wrecking... except it wasn't ! if the follow Bare Soul Boudoir on social media you can see very quickly that person behind the camera; the fabulous lady who has this intense passion for what she does and what she is so good at, the time and detail she puts into making sure every aspect of the experience is covered; is written out in so much detail; you can quickly see it's not just a job; is a passion; a calling. Who else could someone want to have by their side for such a unique experience!

Q: Were you nervous before your session? What did you do/ remind yourself to over come that?

I wasn't nervous at all before my session. until I parked at the studio; then I realized I was about to walk into something I've never done before and thought I was going to make a complete fool of myself. The second I sat down in the makeup chair and started chatting; I completely forgot I was nervous at all; the vibe in the room; the atmosphere was so warm; so welcoming that I quickly realized that I was in good hands.

Q: How did you feel before your session vs after?

Before my session; a large part of me had this strange assumption that these photos that were going to be taken would look like all the other ones i have of myself; I don't care much to have my photo taken and tend to not like how I look in them more times than not and I think I was scared to get my hopes up that somehow these photos would look incredible. Well they were absolutely incredible; so classy; so sexy; I felt like such a bad bitch, like damn I could look that good! watch out world I was on fire the rest of that day

Q: How did you feel seeing your photos for the first time?

My jaw dropped; I couldn't stop looking at myself; it was a little hard to believe it was me in these photos, I see myself in the mirror every day and even though I am confident in myself/my body; there are always things I see and not like so much; well seeing these photos made me look in the mirror in a whole new light. I felt so sexy; so beautiful, confidence through the roof

Q: How do you feel weeks after your session?

Gorgeous! How could I not? It's really me in these photos?? it's still hard to believe that I can look at something that I think is so hot and it's me!! Mind blowing really .

Q: What would you say to anyone on the fence about a boudoir session?

Just do it ! There is really no downside; do it for yourself and you'll fall in love with the beautiful lady in the photos; do it for a special someone and watch their face light up ! If you need a confidence boost; or just a pick me up and be pampered; there are so many Pros to doing a boudoir session and I can't think of one con. So the odds are pretty in your favour that you will absolutely love it.

Q: What was your motivation/reason for booking a boudoir session?

A: I wanted to feel empowered and sexy in my own body. I'd be lying if I said I'd never taken my own pictures before, but they never looked "good enough". I think everyone deserved to feel sexy and confident in their own skin and thats why I decided to do this shoot. I was going through some stuff in my personal life and I needed something to look forward to and feel good about.

Q: Why did you choose Bare Soul Boudoir to provide this experience for you?

A : I'd looked for over a year at different photographers because I really wanted to do a boudoir shoot. No one stood out to me and all the ones I saw I wasn't crazy about. I came across Bare Soul and was instantly blown away with Jess' work. I instantly followed all her accounts and knew this was who I wanted to do my shoot with and gave me the push to book.

Q: Were you nervous before your session? What did you do/ remind yourself to over come that?

I wouldn't say nervous but excited and anxious. I was more excited for what was to come and the looking forward to getting dressed up; hair; makeup and for meeting Jess and what was to come. I wasn't nervous because I knew Jess was going to make the experience amazing.

Q: How did you feel before vs after your session?

A: Before the session I was excited and anxious. After I felt like I was on cloud 9. The excitement and high I felt after the session is almost hard to describe. I also couldn't wait to see the pictures and final images.

Q: How did you feel seeing your photos for the first time?

A: My first thought was "wow that's me". I kept looking over and over at all of them (and let me tell you there was a lot of pictures). I still feel the same way looking at them months later. I also couldn't help but share them with others

Q: How do you feel weeks after your experience?

A: still look at them and admire them. I love every single image and how they make me feel-sexy, empowered and confident. And like I want to do more!

Q: How has this experience impacted you in your day to day life after the fact?

A: I have always been a fairly confident person, but now I feel beautiful in every way, shape and form. I feel powerful.

Q: What has the experience taught you?

A: That you are amazing and beautiful inside and out. I also think this experience is one of the most empowering feelings

Q: What would you say to someone on the fence about booking their own boudoir experience?

A: Do it!!! I've raved about the experience to all my friends, one of which has since booked. There is no way to not feel great after and highly recommend everyone does it at least once. And Jess is absolutely amazing and makes you feel like a million bucks.

Q: What was your motivation for booking a boudoir session?
A: I had seen a handful of friends posting about boudoir and it looked like this amazing experience to feel beautiful and sexy in my body; which is something I’ve struggled with in the past, being in a bigger body. But I wanted to spend more time loving and accepting myself; and I felt this was a perfect way to celebrate my body; my independence, and my womanhood.

Q: What made you choose Bare Soul Boudoir?
A: I picked Jess for this experience because of her energy! Everything she was posting and sharing aligned with my values and what I wanted out of the experience. The style of editing, poses, and her studio looked beautiful' and her very clear message of inclusivity made me feel so welcomed.

Q: How did you feel before your session vs after?
A: Before the session; I felt nervous. I’m not usually in lingerie in front of complete strangers and so that was nerve wracking. I was afraid maybe I wouldn’t look as good in the poses compared to what I had seen on Jess’s social media. But I knew I had to embrace the experience completely to get what I wanted out of it; so I trusted in Jess and she made sure I felt safe and told me that if I can’t move my body a certain way; that’s not an issue. So by the end of it; I didn’t even really notice I wasn’t wearing clothes; or that someone was taking my photos. I just felt free in my body.

Q: How did you feel seeing your photos for the first time?
A: My jaw literally dropped to the floor, I basically screamed; and showed all my friends the photos!! I couldn’t even believe it was me. I looked so beautiful and sexy and the quality of photos were to die for.

Q: How do you feel weeks after your session?
A: A few weeks later and I still stare at my photos constantly. The most amazing part of seeing the photos was being able to see the beauty in the parts of me that I am most insecure about. Where my tummy sticks out; my stretch marks; or any rolls on my body. They weren’t hidden from view and it allowed me to appreciate those parts of me. I feel so much more confident in my body and in my self after the experience! I feel beautiful. I feel like I’m learning to respect and care for my body more. And I’m learning to give that love and appreciate to other women going through it. It’s a lovely little community.

Q: What would you say to anyone on the fence about a boudoir session?
A: DO IT!! Find a photographer that matches your vibe; recognize that the price is completely worth it because you’re supporting a photographer & make up artist & all of their time; as well as yourself. There is not a single regret with this experience at all! It’s so difficult to explain the after part; but when you see the photos and feel that way about yourself; the world changes. So book the session!!!

It's no secret that I absolutely love having Mom's in my studio. Whether it's new moms; moms of many; moms of one. The reason I love having them in is because of the life changing effects this experience can have on a mom. Yes; it's life changing for every woman but it tends to hit a bit different for moms.

While I can't speak on motherhood from personal experience; I do get to hear so many stories and witness so many lives being changed in the studio.

As mothers women are so used to giving; giving; giving that they often forget to take care of themselves. While this isn't a bad thing; It just makes this experience that much more eye opening for moms. They put everyone else's needs before their own. Their kids; their spouses; their households. Cleaning; Cooking; Bathing; Dressing the list goes on. My hats are off to all moms; you ladies juggle so much and you do it with grace.

So why is a boudoir experience so damn important (in my opinion) for a mom to book for herself? (Or better yet for someone to gift to a mom!)

Because this day is about HER. The days leading up to her session allll about her baby!! The preparation for the shoot gives you that push you need to take some much need (and deserved) me time. Getting your nails done; getting waxed; getting your hair done. None of these things are necessary for your shoot; but it's a nice excuse to leave the kids at home and have some alone time getting pampered. That feeling of guilt you feel creeping up? Ignore her. You deserve this pampering more than anyone.

The main reason I think a boudoir shoot is an absolute must for mama's is because of the affects it has on your body image. I know that it's not always easy to accept changes in your body; especially at the rapid change rate from pregnancy. Within 9 months your body goes through so many changes. Weight gain & stretch marks; feeling super icky sometimes; not fitting into any of your old clothes. These are all hard things to accept in normal circumstances but then you throw raising a human into the mix and it can get all the more difficult.

After pregnancy I know tons of new moms struggle to accept this new normal. They struggle to accept the fact that their body won't necessarily ever be the same. But I think that's something to celebrate. You carried a HUMAN. THAT'S WORTH CELEBRATING.

While you may being feeling super down about your post baby body, boudoir is seriously the best way to see your new body in all it's glory. To see your new stretch marks as something to love; to see them as part of your story- your child's story.

Sure you might be a little heavier than before you were pregnant. But you needed that weight to create life.

Sure your boobs might not be perky after breast feeding. But your child was relying on you for nutrition.

Sure you might have stretch marks. But your body grew and supported 2 lives when you needed it to.

None of those things make you any less beautiful; any less worthy or any less of a woman! ❤️ YOU ROCK MAMA! Now let's celebrate yo beautiful self with a boudoir session ✨

This session was BEYOND magic. For at least the last year; I've wanted to make it out to a waterfall to shoot boudoir. After what the busiest season I've had in my life over the summer; I asked my long time client turned friend Mary if she was up for taking an early November waterfall trip. As usual; she was down! (She's always up for my ideas; no matter what they are!) While it was a pretty warm day for early November; Mary braved the cold water to get some of my favourite photos I've ever taken.

Safety Tips for Choosing a Photographer

Photoshoots have become such a popular way to have fun and boost confidence for women! With photography being such a huge industry and there being so much access to different creatives due to social media, i personally know of many friends, clients and people close to me who choose to do photo sessions as a hobby. It's empowering, whether it's boudoir or not.

The sad part about it is that I have had SO many people come to me with stories of abuse, discomfort. specifically from male boudoir photographers.

I can't even being to explain the sadness i feel hearing these stories. us boudoir photographers hold so much power in our hands to directly impact how someone feels about themselves.

It's frustrating that i'm having to make posts like this and that these terrible experiences happen so often. It's infuriating that some men are taking an experience that has the potential to be life changing (if orchestrated in an intentional, respectful way) and turning it into something to be used as a cover for their vile motives.

Now, before you start thinking "but not all men".... I am very aware that not every male photographer is a sick human being. I shouldn't even have to address the fact that some are going to pull the not all men card. respectful men understand how scary this can be for women. If you find yourself saying "not all men" you should be asking yourself how you can help be a part of the solution instead of jumping to the defensive.

the reality is that this is happening way to often. often enough that I feel it's my responsibility to speak up, educate and protect women to the best of my ability, using the expertise and perspective I've acquired from being in the industry. I work so hard to provide a safe, loving space to help all women learn to love themselves and to see a male boudoir photographer take advantage of the fact that women seeking out boudoir experiences are often looking for some kind of confidence boost, therefore taking them as a vulnerable target makes my blood boil. I fully realize that being a boudoir photographer is a privilege. It's not a tool to be used in a sick and twisted game to manipulate and assault.

So with all that being said, here are some safety tips to consider and red flags to look out for when choosing to work with a male boudoir photographer.

1. REVIEWS FROM EXTERNAL SITES.

When choosing to work with a male photographer who you have no familiarity with, it's important to look for reviews. But not reviews that have been curated on their website, or copied and pasted to social media captions. Look for reviews from third party sites, where the client goes and writes their review directly and it cannot be altered or taken down by the photographer. (Google, yelp, facebook.) Also pay attention to how many reviews there are. If they've been a photographer for years and have only a handful of reviews on these sites, that can be a red flag. As boudoir photographers it's important for us to express to our clients how important it is they leave reviews about their experiences. Good or bad. So if they're reputable, they should be too.

2. THE LANGUAGE THEY USE WHEN SPEAKING TO YOU, CLIENTS AND ON SOCIALS.

This one is huuuuuuge in the boudoir space. With this type of shoot being so vulnerable and intimate it's important to pay attention to how they speak. Are they using more abrasive terms when speaking about female body parts. (Tits, ass, etc) I feel it's super important for male boudoir photographers to speak to women respectfully. Choosing more proper terms like chest, bum etc. Male boudoir photographers shouldn't be sexualizing their clients, that's not what the sessions about. Example: it's completely inappropriate for a male boudoir photographer to tell a client "Your tits look amazing" "Stick your ass out more" "Spread your legs" things of that nature. Some more appropriate ways to direct/compliment clients would be "That colour looks amazing on you." "The light is making your skin glow" Things that don't necessarily sexualize them. They don't need to be professional robots but tone and vocabulary can be a key indicator to motive/thoughts.

3. LACK DIVERSITY IN THEIR PORTFOLIO.

If you're looking through their website or socials and notice there only seems to be one "type" of client, that can be a red flag. If you only see them shoot women who are professional model looking, with consistent characteristics throughout the majority of their work - there's a good chance that's their sexual preference & that's the reason they're choosing to shoot boudoir.

4. FREE SESSIONS.

Now, by saying free sessions I do not mean every male who does model calls or time for photos work has potential to be a sexual predator but it can be a major red flag. Almost every story I've been told by past clients or friends, involved a completely free session. By offering a free session these types of men thrive on making you feel like you owe them. Like you have to do whatever they want (outfits, poses, type of session) because they're giving you free photos. Many times they won't equally consider your ideas, and try to force you into a specific concept for the shoot. Predatory scenarios seem to be more common when you're not paying them.

5. ISOLATED LOCATION, HESITANCY TO ALLOW COMPANY OR ABSENCE OF OTHER PEOPLE ON SET.

If a male boudoir photographer is trying to take you to a secluded, isolated location and not suggesting you bring a friend or company or giving you a hard time if you ask to bring someone. HUGE RED FLAG.

If he doesn't have any one else who will be on set for any of the shoot- example: hair, make-up or assistants. RED FLAG. When working with a male boudoir photographer for the first time it's always a good idea to bring someone along, even if they wait in the car or other room.

6. PESTERING

If they are constantly messaging you asking you to "collab" or model for them over and over and over. Red flag. No creative should be obsessively messaging a potential model or client begging them to shoot. It looks suspicious.

7. NO REAL ONLINE PRESENCE, RECENT WORK OR UPDATED WEBSITE.

If a photographer doesn't post much regarding the experience they offer, show their face or make any attempt to have people get to know them before they expect women to book with them, it might be something to be cautious of. In my opinion, as a male in the boudoir space it's even MORE important for you to be transparent about your offerings, and make an effort to share who you are and why you do what you do. Otherwise is can look a little suspicious and like you're shooting boudoir simply to have an excuse to have half naked women in front of you all day. To me, a lack of showing their face on their socials or website is also a hugeeee red flag.

8. FETISH TYPE PHOTOS.

Another potential red flag is photographers who shoot typical "fetishes". Lots of feet photos, super bizarre concepts with odd props that are very specific and not common at all. It is possible that they or someone they know has a fetish are shooting these photos with ill intention. Again, I am not saying that every out of the box idea is a fetish, it's just something to be aware of.

NOW ONTO SOME SAFETY TIPS FOR IF/WHEN YOU DO CHOOSE A MAL BOUDOIR PHOTOGRAPHER.

1- Tell multiple people where you're going, when you're getting there and when you're expected to be done. Have those people check in. It's not a bad idea to make sure in a subtle way that the photographer knows that people know where you are.

2- Send your location tracking to someone you trust.

3- have a friend drive you or accompany you to the session.

4- Have clear boundaries of what you are and aren't willing to do. Don't be afraid to tell them no, it doesn't make you rude. If they make you feel bad for no going along with what they want, leave immediately.

5- When doing a free session, ask what their ideas are before hand. Find out if they're looking to shoot specific outfits, or try specific things. If they try to spring something like shooting nude on you last minute, that's a huge no. (And I don't mean asking if you want to shoot nude, I mean if they insist when they weren't clear about that from the beginning.)

6- TRUST YOUR GUT. If you get any kind of feeling that makes you squirm- whether it be something they said, something they did or posted. DO NOT DO THE SHOOT. It is not worth risking your safety, your gut is usually right.

And that's all i have❤️ I am still currently working on a way to allow those that are comfortable to share their experiences with me so I can compile a list of creatives who have given people red flags in the past, with the hopes of providing a place for women to do their research before working with men in the boudoir industry.

By writing this post, I am in no way shape or form saying that women photographers aren't capable of doing these things, just that it typically happens more often with men and I wanted to use my platform and expertise within the industry to shed light and bring awareness to hopefully save someone from experiencing a horrible session or even assault.

Opening My Own Studio

I can’t believe I’m even writing this post right now. It’s a day that I definitely have been looking forward to since the beginning of my boudoir career. My own studio. A safe space for clients. A space I have complete control of. A space I put my heart & soul into for my babes.

If you didn’t already hear- I GOT MY OWN STUDIO. And I’m here to share the story of how it all came to be

So back in October ish I had started toying with the idea of taking the leap to look for a commercial space to open my own studio. The studio I had been using was a rent by the hour type of thing and it just wasn’t working. From having to schedule shoots based on their availability, not being able to get in early to prep for my clients, not being able to control the environment or the decor- something had to change. Don’t get me wrong it was GREAT for the time being but it was time for me to take the next step.

So I had started browsing online looking for the perfect space & feeling out what was available. LET ME TELL YOU- This search had me wanting to PULL MY FREAKING HAIR OUT. Searching for a space to use for a photography studio had it’s challenges. It wasn’t just the space itself I needed to consider. It had to have tons of natural light, be big enough for multiple sets, have free (and ample) parking for clients & my artists, have a space for glam + image reveal appointments and not be $10,000 a month. I was getting so frustrated trying to find a space that checked all the boxes- but I knew that if it was meant to be it would be.

Fast forward a few weeks later a place that I had previously looked at online that had been out of budget lowered in price. It was a freaking sign. I went to see it a few days later and it was PERFECTTTTT. So much light & even stayed bright pretty far into the WINTER afternoon. Separate glam room, lots of space. I loved it. Only problem was there was someone else offering to lease as well. All in all I ended up getting it! The universe really put this one together for me. Just goes to show you that everything happens for a reason.

This is where it gets real. I got the keys at the end of November. (The 23rd I believe it was…)

How was it tricky you ask? WELLLLL- I was booked solid through November & had planned to start taking clients in the new space as of Jan 1st 2021. 1 month on top of being booked solid, keeping up content creation for insta, shooting, editing, emails etc AND to top it all off I had just moved into my apartment 3 weeks prior! All of this during a global pandemic mind you- was I crazy? Maybe. But you know what- growth doesn’t come from your comfort zone.

The space needed a TON of work before it’d be ready to have photos taken in it. Including the glam room it’s about 1000 sqft. Painting a 1000 square foot space with high ceilings was such a daunting task- I HATE painting LOL.

Picking a colour was more difficult than I’d like to admit. I wanted neutral so that no matter what furniture I put in or switch to in the future it would match. Okay- so grey. THERE’S A MILLION SHADES OF GREY. I picked one a got to work. I won’t lie I was a freaking stress case (as my boyfriend can attest to.) I painted the glam room which was so done with painting by the end of that, I had no clue how I was gunna paint the main shooting area with the super tall ceilings! WELL my dad came to the rescue and offered to paint it for me. Bless his soul because the fact that it had to be perfect since photos were gunna be taken in there was so much pressure. I have a track record of hitting the ceiling sooooo!! But it was unbelievable how paint alone changed the space so much- no more puke yellow.

Then it was time to start picking furniture- also a TASKKKKK. Conceptualizing a beautiful shooting space from nothing was so difficult. Where to even start? What do I buy first?

There were so many stresses from worrying if online orders would arrive on time, to having it ready in one month, to rumours of a second lock down. What I ordered and when is a big blur but the one piece I remember is that staple violet tufted sofa, the crown jewel of my space. WE LOVE HER.

Announcement time- Second lock down, at least 28 days. This gave me more time but added a ton more uncertainty. Would it actually be 28 days or would it be 6 months? You never know with the Ontario government HAAAA.

So everything pretty much came to a halt. I stopped buying things since I had no idea how long this lock down would last. I focused on planning ideas for the space, improving every part of the experience for my clients, re-vamped my website, spend tons of time on client resources and content. I managed to keep at it. The only reason for that is because early on I decided this virus wasn’t gunna win. It could kick me down 1000 times but I was gunna stand up 1001.

Fast forward to when the stores started opening again- AKA Marshalls, Winners, Homesense AKA my happy place!! It was grindddddd time. I had decided to reschedule all February sessions regardless of being allowed to shoot as of the 16th- because I had only been able to get so much online (Amazon packages coming almost daily LOL) I had SO much I still needed to buy. So the 2 weeks leading up to March 1st it was pretty much all day everyday in the studio after going to every single Marshalls, Winners AND Homesense in the city. I’m not exaggerating- my boyfriends & I went to every single one within 2 days.

Slowly setting everything up and getting things hung ( Thanks to my dad again for making sure everything was level and secured properly LOL) really made things real. This was my space. MY SPACE. I could move things as I wanted, hang what I wanted & create the most comfortable & inviting environment for my clients.

Every last detail was attended to. The mini fridge full of drink options, the client closet with sizes XS-4X, The mirror decal that says “YOU LOOK AMAZING.”, The calming face mists, the body lotions, the empowering words displayed all over the glam room + hallway.

AND HERE WE ARE.

I’m just truly still in awe at this entire experience. I know the challenges of opening a studio during covid are far from over, but I’m so damn proud of how much I’ve managed to over come during this.

This is not where the story is gunna end though, there’s some big things coming & I can’t wait for you to come along for the ride.

I wouldn’t be here without my AMAZING clients. Thank you to all the ladies who have put their trust in a complete stranger, to the ladies that stay in touch, to the ladies that make me laugh, to the ladies that let me show them their worth, to the ladies that’ve allowed me to change lives for a living. None of this would be possible without you.

THE EXPERIENCE: Start To Finish

Whether you’ve just stumbled upon Bare Soul Boudoir, you already have your experience booked, or you just want to get a better understanding of how I do things + what you’re experience with me will look like….. THIS ONE’S FOR YOU!!! Start to finish, all the details about the experience…… LET’S GO!!

Booking

First things first, pick your Experience. You can view all package options HERE! All HST is INCLUDED in the prices listed, so the price you see is the price you pay! (Unless you choose to add on additional digital images or products!)

Next step is to fill out the contract form on my site, shoot me an email, or dm on insta- whatever’s best for you! If you’re not filling out the contact form there’s a few main things I’ll need to know to get booking started!

A) Which package you’re wanting to do.

B) If you need anything back for a certain date for a gift. Generally I recommend booking your session with a minimum of 3 months before you need products back by! Just to give us some extra time for potential delays & saving us from being panicked! We want everything to be stress free!!

C) If there’s a certain month you’re wanting to book into or if you’re wanting my earliest availability!

Basically just let me know where your heads at!!

I’ll take all that info and look into my schedule and send you some options!!

A deposit is required to book in and hold your experience date! Deposits are 20% of the Experience total, they’re all listed on the pricing page, so you don’t have to do any math!

Deposits can be paid by e-transfer or credit card! Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE & NON-TRANSFERABLE! The only exception in which your deposit can be transferred to a new date is if covid related reasons force the shoot to be rescheduled; shut downs, restrictions etc or If I am unable to provide the service for whatever reason! So if you want to reschedule your session you will be required to pay a new deposit. Simply put, this policy is in place because holding a date for you means turning it down to others. Moving it then means potential lost income for that day we’re moving your session from!

The deposit amount comes off of your session total and remaining balance is due by the day of your experience!

After your deposit is paid, I will send you a link where you can view my availability and choose your date/time! Easy peasy!

AAAANNNNDDD Last step to get your booking confirmed is a signed contract!! The contract gets sent via email for an electronic signature! (No need for printing & signing!) This is a non negotiable part of booking! Without signed a contract you can not book your experience!

Financial Prep

You’ve signed your contract, paid your deposit & you’re booked in!!

EXPERIENCE PREP:

Now comes the fun part FINALLLYYY!!

All Bare Soul clients get access to the complete resource library! There you’ll find a 15+ page total prep guide! You’ll also find my go-to pump up playlist, my recommendation for body + skin products, where to shop (with links), outfit advice AND SO MUCH MORE!! Everything you’ll need to prepare can be found in there! But of course you also have me here to help as well! From start to finish I’m here to guide you through your experience! You can absolutely send me pictures for advice on outfits, or message with any other questions at any time! I GOTCHUUUU!

The Day Of:

YES YES YESSSS! It’s finally the day of your session!!

You arrive at the studio as you’re getting settled in you can have some lemonade, iced tea, water etc We’re STOCKED with all kinds of beverages for you to enjoy!

Next comes glam! My glam girls are seriously THE BEST. You could not be in better hands! They’ll sit down with you & you can chat about the plan for the look before they get started. This is where you can request specific looks or give them full creative reign. (I highly recommend letting them do their thing) In most cases they’re able to accommodate any request but you’re definitely not required to know what you want!

I get lots of questions about if you can opt out of this part of the experience, and the short answer is no! The reason I require hair & make-up be done by my girls is because the 1-2 hours of glam time helps alleviate nerves & gives us time to chat before the shooting portion of your experience. The pampering plays such a huge roll in the over all experience as a whole & I don’t want any client to ever receive a lesser experience than what they deserve. We don’t settle for not the best around here.

Now, that doesn’t mean that the make-up/hair isn’t customizable to you. My girls are never going to say “This is what you’re getting whether you like it or not!” They’re there to work WITH you.

I will say that the most common misunderstanding with boudoir make-up is that “Natural” for boudoir is the same as your everyday going out “Natural”. That couldn’t be further from the truth! Make-up for photos vs everyday is drastically different in general but ESPECIALLY when it comes to boudoir. After glam you may think the make-up looks like “A lot” but I promise you in the photos it does not translate as “Too Much”. You’re in such amazing hands with any of my artists/stylists. I’ll never bring on someone I don’t know well and/or completely trust. I love my girls & I know you will too!

BAM! You’re all glammed up, looking so bomb!! Now it’s time to start looking at outfits. First we’ll go through the options that you brought!

Then if you choose, we can look through the client closet & pull some potential options!

Everything in the client closet is worn with a liner AND washed after every single use. If it’s not your thing, that’s totally fine! You’re welcome to have all your outfits be from the client closet or none at all! Totally up to you! The client closet currently has sizes XS-4X! I have garters, bralettes, bra + panty sets, metal bralettes, and tons of body suits! All in different colours + styles!

From there we can decide on your final outfits! (Each package comes with a different amount of outfits!) I am of course here to offer advice and assist choosing outfits! Many babes choose to have a little try/on fashion show so we can decide together!

Receiving Your Images

You will receive your gallery via email within 7-14 days of your session date. The gallery is sent through a secure platform that is password protected for security. I generally send back a minimum of 60 images for you to choose from, often times more! (Even for the 30 minute session!) From there you go through and favourite the images you want!

Once you get your gallery back, you will also get to decide what (if anything) get shared. You can keep your images 100% private, share only faceless photos, share all photos or only share approved photos. Client privacy is my #1, so you'll NEVER be pressured into sharing if you don't want to !

Ordering Products:

Should you choose to order any products expect them to take 4-6 weeks to be in your hands. I know that sounds like a long time and generally they don’t take that long. But I’d rather you expect it to take longer and come sooner then be disappointed if they’re delayed a bit.

The time line of receiving products depends on a few things:

Which product- Some take longer to product than others.
Time of year - Generally around Jan for Valentines day & Nov-Dec for Christmas, my print labs are slammed with orders. This means it’ll likely take longer. Around the holidays shipping can also be expected to take a little longer.
External Delays- These include things like shipping, or production time from the company.

Once they arrive to me, I double check them to make sure they’re perfect and then ship them to you! I ship all products to clients so that as soon as I get it I can send it out! Scheduling in product pick ups would take much longer for products to get in your hands & be difficult to accommodate so shipping just simplifies things! Shipping is covered by me!

TAAAA FREAKING DA!!!! (If you got that reference- we’re best friends) That’s what you can expect start to finish when you book your boudoir experience with me! I truly value all my clients privacy & commit everything to creating a safe space to provide this experience. It’s truly such an honour to be able to help all my babes kick start their journey to full self acceptance!!

Key Take Aways:

- For gifting, Book a minimum of 3 months prior to the date you need your products back by!

How To Financially Prepare For Your Experience

The number one reason I hear from women why they don't go through with booking their boudoir experience is money. "I can't afford it". This experience is actually much more affordable than you realize & today I'm breaking down tips to relieve financial pressure so that you can start your journey to true body acceptance & self love. You ready? HERE WE GOOOOO!

Book Months In Advance

All that's required to book your date is your session retainer, which is 20% of the package total! So pay your session retainer and then choose a few months in advance to allow yourself time to save up for your experience! (This also gives you lots of prep time which is a huge bonus)

Use An Old Fashion Cash Jar

Back before everyone did their saving electronically many used a mason jar!! (I still do!!) This way you're not seeing, therefore thinking about this money! It adds up quicker than you think. Pull out X amount off every pay cheque or what I like to do is anytime I get cash, I don't spend it! Then on shoot day you can pay all of or whatever you've saved up towards the session balance! It's also fun to decorate a jar & save for your boudie experience hehe!

Use A Credit Card

I do accept credit card payments so if this is an option you'd like to use just let me know when booking! I don't store your card info or anything like that it's all done through an online invoice so it's all secure! Credit cards allow you to book your experience & pay it off over a period of time if you wish. If your card gives cash back or points then BONUS!! ⁠

This experience TRULY is much more affordable than you realize. I say experience because that's exactly what it is. It's not just a photo shoot, that you get photos back from look at for a few days after & then move on from. This CHANGES. YOUR. LIFE. ⁠

How To Emotionally Prepare For Your Experience

So you've booked your session WOOHOOO! But now the initial excitement is turning into nerves AH!
Well today I'm going through all my tips for emotionally prepping for your session! How to calm the nerves & get PUMPED the frick up! Let's do this!!!

1. KNOW THAT NERVES ARE COMPLETELY NORMAL!

I’d say about 95% of my babes are nervous when they book their experience. It’s completely normal, I mean you’re getting super vulnerable with someone you hardly know. That shits scary- I get it! But I promise you once you get in that glam chair, and we get to chatting your nerves will slowly melt away!! Try to turn your thoughts to what you're going to gain from this experience, the nerves are SO worth the final result!

2. JOURNAL YOUR INTENTIONS!

Write down what you want to get out of your experience. What are you why’s? What made you want to do this? How do you see it transforming you? Write about your nerves. Get all your thoughts out. Dumping it all on paper will help clear your thoughts! But remember to not focus this journalling on just the nerves! Yes you want to write about ALL your feelings but focusing on the negative (nerves) will not make this exercise help the way it should!

C ontinue doing this from the time you book, leading up to your session. Write about how badass & beautiful you are. About how strong you are for taking the leap to invest in this experience for YOU!

3. PREP EARLY!

This one speaks for itself!! Once you book your session with me START PREPPING ASAP. Don’t leave outfit shopping, financial prep etc to the last minute! I have an entire prep guide that I send out upon booking this will help you with everything from outfits, to skin prep, to what to do on the day of etc!! Start planning your outfits as SOON as you book! The last thing you want is to be slammed for time and having to choose something just because you don’t have time to get anything else! Bottom line- Last minute rushing = stress = not as enjoyable of an experience! I'm also here to answer any & all questions! It's seriously NEVER a bother!

4. AFFIRMATIONS!

Write down some positive affirmations that resonate with you! A quick google search will bring up TONS! Read through them and decide what hits home with you & your feelings! Print them out or simply write them out on sticky notes and post that shit all over your space!! Put them in places you’ll see everyday, every time you see them take a moment to read them to yourself. Reading them out loud lets yourself actually HEAR them! So I recommend doing this!

5. SET ALARMS IN YOUR PHONE!

I learned this little trick from a business book I read but I’m turning it into a Self Love thing rather than a business thing. Set alarms in your phone to go off AT LEAST twice a day (more if you want!) with positive affirmations or reminders. Remind yourself that you’re badass, beautiful, strong! Remind yourself that you DESERVE this experience!!! (Cause you absolutely do hehe!)

6. KNOW I'M HERE THROUGH THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE!

This ones last but certainly not the least important. I want all my babes to know I’M HERE TO GUIDE YOU!! Through every single step!!! Once you book you get my entire prep guide which helps with outfits, skin prep etc etc! You can also reach out ANYTIME to ask questions leading up to your session! That Time I Got Naked In The Snow

For at least the last year I've had this vision of shooting boudoir in a snowy forest. So I figured who better to bring that vision to life than ME. Yup, I stripped down in the forest in -6 degree weather. I DID THAT.

You might be thinking that I'm a freaking lunatic for doing this & you're not entirely wrong. I mean I don't think the average person would get naked (Oh, you bet your ass I got fully naked- go hard or go home am I right?) in the snow.

These photos mean so damn much to me. My original plan back in the summer was to shoot this with a long time client of mine (HEY MARY GIRLLLL IF YOU'RE READING THIS!) but the provincial wide lock down had other plans. So I decided fuck it- I'LL DO IT.

I had been feeling like I was in a slump recently. After the opening back up of the first lock down in the spring I've been working NON STOP. Wild Side season 2020 was INSANE. (The best kind of insane. I got to empower SO MANY WOMEN & meet so many incredible clients in the process.) What I failed to do was schedule myself any time off, I neglected my "me" time. It was work work work work all day all night. Shooting, editing, emails, contracts, invoices, album design, instagram content repeat. I felt amazing! But as you may or may not have experienced first hand- not taking breaks leads to over exhaustion & burn out. After the Christmas 2020 season, which was also wild. It really hit me. I was exhausted all the time, unmotivated, depressed. I didn't feel like my outgoing, loud self anymore. I felt like curling into a ball. I felt like there was this immense weight on my shoulders that was just to heavy to lift. Between keeping up with shooting and client work, continuing to market myself & adding on to that moving into a new studio AND a new apartment.... I wanted to collapse. It just felt like an endless list.

Fast forward to beginning of lockdown. I FELT SO BLEH. But you know what, since the second I did my glam for this shoot, that all changed.

This was my reset. My fresh start. My "Hello 2021, 2020 didn't knock me down- hit me with your best shot",

Looking at these photos on the back of my camera while I was still out shooting gave me all the pump up I needed to brave the cold. (Thanks to my man for putting up with me and being my human tripod.)

When I got home and brought these onto my computer I was in complete awe. I sat and stared at them thinking "HOLY SHIT. THAT'S ME. THAT'S MY BODY. THAT'S MY FACE. I'M ONE BAD ASS BITCH. I JUST GOT NAKED IN THE SNOW." I seriously walked up to my boyfriend & said "I hope you know I'm printing these for above our bed." He of course was more than okay with that. But I'm truly obsessed. I am a piece of FREAKING ART. This body deserves to be celebrated. It got my through a GLOBAL PANDEMIC. Through successes, through heart breaks, through loss, through the most stressful year of my life. These photos represent my strength. My boldness. They represent that I can do A N Y T H I N G I set my mind to. There's nothing out of reach.

It's much easier to preach to other people to love your body than it is to practice it. Listen, we all have our insecurities. As a women it truly is hard work to program your brain to KNOW, Not to say or to think but to KNOW that you're worthy. That you're perfect just as you are. But that's what I'm here for. I'm here to lead by example, (with the help of all my amazing glam team ladies) to hold your hand through this entire process, and to get you on the path to TRUE ACCEPTANCE OF EVERY PART OF YOURSELF.

Ladies listen- I don't preach about what this experience will do for you for the fun of it. I do it because it's TRUE. It really completely change your perspective. It makes you love & appreciate all that you've been through that's made you the person you are today. GONE are the times where you look at your body & feel nothing but resentment & anger. LET'S DO THIS!��

Miss L's Boudoir Experience

WHAT WAS YOUR REASON FOR BOOKING A BOUDOIR SHOOT?
Hearing “you’re beautiful, just look at you” yet not having that “feeling” inside me was absolutely gut wrenching. It took a little part of me every time i heard it.

Not only was it destroying me as a person, but it was slowly ruining my relationship. Since this experience I can truly say that I love myself, I feel confidence both in my body and in my mind. Maybe somedays more than others, but one thing I have learnt is that you need to feel some love for yourself before letting someone else love everything about you and not “believing” them.

Kept watching the posts on Instagram and thought it would be a very uplifting, fun and empowering experience !

HOW DID YOU FEEL GOING INTO YOUR SESSION?

I felt like the time before my shoot was DRAGGING. Nervous to say the least..

Though that feeling quickly diminished after feeling beyond welcomed in the studio!

We sorted through outfits, Jess did her thing & I was off to hair + make up with Meg & Tuni!

HOW DID YOU FEEL DURING YOUR SESSION?

This was HUGE for me. One of my only worries, to be completely honest. Those “what if’s” were LOUD in my head.

From the moment I arrived at the studio to the point I walked out, I can 100% say I had very little anxiety, each and every one of those “what if’s” never popped into my head. Every single lady in that room while getting ready for the shoot wants to see you look & feel good about yourself. They will take suggestions, along with give them! (in the kindest ways - again, you can tell these ladies truly care about their clients)

As Jess mentions on her FAQ she will 100% pose you. From past photo shoots with other photographers only being told how to pose, Jess goes above and beyond, hopping right on in there by SHOWING her clients step by step on how to get into + hold a pose. This is huge for people who may have never had this type of experience before.

During my session I felt so at home. Jess and her assistant literally made me feel like we’ve known each other for years. I didn’t get anxious like I normally would.

HOW DID YOU FEEL LEAVING YOUR SESSION?

WOULD YOU SAY YOUR BOUDOIR EXPERIENCE HAD AN IMPACT ON YOUR DAILY LIFE? IF SO, HOW?

Absolutely in the most positive ways!

I went from having zero to little self confidence, to now feeling how others see me. “Beautiful on the inside & out” is a hard thing to hear from somebody when you yourself don’t personally feel it.

Jess did an amazing job at knocking the shell off of my back!

Sometimes when I’m feeling no so good I go back and look at the pics and remind myself how I rocked it and how good I felt about myself.

DID YOU NOTICE A DIFFERENCE IN THE WAY YOU FELT ABOUT YOURSELF (MENTALLY OR PHYSICALLY) AFTER YOUR EXPERIENCE?

I went from struggling everyday with my self worth, to feeling like a bad ass bitch every-time I walk out of my door.

HOW DID YOU FEEL WHEN VIEWING YOUR GALLERY FOR THE FIRST TIME?

Overwhelmed would be an understatement.

I sat and looked at all of the pictures for hours in awe.

I genuinely couldn’t believe that who I was looking at, was me. Not only did I LOOK beautiful, but for the first time in years.. I FEEL beautiful. The hardest part was picking what ones I wanted to keep!!

WHAT DID YOUR EXPERIENCE MEAN/REPRESENT TO YOU?

In the simplest form, self appreciation.

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE THINKING ABOUT BOOKING THEIR OWN SESSION?

Don’t think, just do - From hair & make up to the initial shoot, each and every single woman that is in the room while getting ready will GAS YOU UP.

From someone who struggles with severe social anxiety, I was made to feel “at home”.

The initial shoot was the most self rewarding feeling I have ever experienced for myself - hands down.

Since having my first shoot with Jess, I have convinced so many ladies to do the same. Embrace what you have, no money can fix how you truly see yourself. You ARE beautiful in the skin you’re in ❤️
